You love your pup and would do anything to keep them safe and happy. You give them hugs and pets every day to let them know you care. Those of us who are animal lovers will never understand how people can be cruel to animals.
The sad truth is that there are not good people out there who do bad things. Thankfully, there are plenty of people who are willing to step in and provide these abandoned and abused animals with a safe and loving home.

Harley the One-Eyed Chihuahua
This little dog may no longer be with us, but his impact will last a lifetime. His story began as a sad one, spending the first ten years of his life in a small cage at a puppy mill. When he was rescued, his little six-pound body had gone through massive amounts of trauma.
He lost an eye from his caged being pressure washed while he was still in it. His toes were gnarled, his tail was broken, teeth were infected, and he suffered from heart disease.
Despite all of this, he thrived in his new home. His new family decided to start a Facebook page for him, and soon thousands of people were falling in love with his sweet little face.
He became the face of the “Harley to the Rescue” campaign, which raised money for the National Mill Dog Rescue organization. Over the next five years, Harley enjoyed a life full of love, soft blankets, cozy sweaters, and delicious treats. He made several appearances on national television shows and raised enough money to rescue 500 dogs from commercial breeding operations.
Sadly, Harley passed away in 2016, but his legacy and efforts will live on.
Peanut Pays It Forward
One day a small tan and brown mixed breed pup showed up at a shelter in Michigan. She had suffered broken ribs and legs. Thanks to the kindness of those at the shelter, she healed and was eventually adopted in 2016.
A year later, little Peanut began acting distressed. This ordinarily quiet pup was running through her home barking up a storm. Her owner sensed something was wrong and let the pup outside.
The dog immediately ran to the back yard and located a three year old girl curled up in the bushes. She was naked, shivering, and very afraid. Authorities were alerted, but the little girl could only say one word, “doggie”.
Thanks to the efforts of little Peanut, the little girl’s life was saved.
Murray Gets a Job
When Murray, the two-year old beagle was rescued, he had already lived a hard life. This little guy was missing half of one of his ears, had an injured tail, and was severely underweight. Despite all of this, he was eager to gain the affection of his rescuers.
His intelligence and willingness to learn inspired the workers at his shelter. A year later, Murray had a job. He joined the elite team of dogs at the Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport.
He now thrives in his new environment as he works to prevent harmful pests and foods from getting into the United States.
